Long before mesh ever touched a plastic head the Native Americans were stringing wooden crosses with leathers and string.  The traditional pocket has its roots in the tradition of the "Creator's Game."  If you saw the blockbuster "Crooked Arrows," you got an education on the rich history of the game.  Though traditional pockets have been overtaken by the more convenient and easier to string mesh pockets, the traditional stringing is still alive in the hand of previous Tewaaraton winner and UVA player Steele Stanwick,  Pita Pocket, and former Syracuse midfielder Jeremy Thompson, Traditional.  You can choose a basic traditional string or opt for a pita channel down the middle of the head.  Traditional pockets give you the control and feel of the ball in your stick, while providing an accurate pass for the feeders out there, and ultimate control on your shot to pick the corners.
